Contemporary Shakespeare in Westchester's parks.

Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises...

This summer, it's Shakespeare's final play, The Tempest.  Our director this summer is the talented Julie Thaxter-Gourlay, who has been seen in several previous productions - as Puck in Midsummer Night's Dream, Maria in Twelfth Night, the Nurse in Romeo & Juliet, and Kate in The Taming of the Shrew.

The courtiers and sailors of Milan and Naples wash ashore onto a magical island, populated by the magical Prospero, his daughter Miranda, and a crew of fantastic creatures. We are excited about this lively production with its contemporary and environmentally aware staging.

Auditions will take place at the Rye Arts Center, 51 Milton Road in Rye, on May 3rd and 7th from 7-9 pm.

Actors 16 and over should be prepared to read from sides.  A casting breakdown and audition materials will be posted in advance on this website.  Please make yourself familiar with the play before auditions.

Rehearsals will begin May 14th; performances take place on July 19-22, and 26-28th in parks and outdoor venues in Westchester County. Auditions are open to all ethnicities and levels of experience. Additional opportunities exist for technical and crew members.
